St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore, marked the grand opening of its annual event, Josiad 2025, on October 1, 2025. The celebration commenced with a vibrant presentation by the four participating teams, Monica, Francis Xavier, Theresa, and Joachim, setting an energetic tone for the days ahead.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr. Vincent Saldanha, Manager of Codialbail Press, Mangalore, who officially unveiled the event’s theme: “In unity we rise, in hope we shine.” Following this, Fr. Rajesh Melwyn Rosario, the Rector, lit the Josiad torch, symbolising the beginning of the games and cultural competitions. The torch was then handed over to the team leaders, affirming their roles as guides and representatives of their respective teams.

Fr. Flavian Rajkiran Lobo, the Josiad Coordinator, led the oath-taking ceremony, highlighting the values of integrity, teamwork, and true sportsmanship.

The inspiring inauguration infused the participants with enthusiasm and a renewed spirit of unity, promising that Josiad 2025 would be a memorable celebration of community, collaboration, and healthy competition.

Josiad 2025 concluded on October 4th with a total of 34 events, including athletics, art competitions, literary contests, and various games, showcasing the diverse talents and vibrant spirit of the Seminary community.
