MANGALORE, August
15, 2025 – The Seminary community celebrated the 79th
Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour and devotion.
The programme
began in the morning with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, during which
special prayers were offered for the peace, progress and unity of the nation.
The liturgy emphasized the values of freedom, justice and fraternity, recalling
the sacrifices of countless men and women who gave their lives for India’s
independence.
Following the
Mass, the community assembled on the seminary grounds for the flag-hoisting
ceremony. The chief guest, Rev. Fr Yashveer Minj, CMF, hoisted the national
flag and the gathering joined in singing the National Anthem with reverence. A
guard of honour was presented by the Hindi Academy brothers, symbolising
respect for the nation and its heritage. In his address, the chief guest
highlighted the role of religion and moral values in nation-building.
The celebration
concluded with the distribution of sweets, fostering joy and unity among the
community. Br Aman led the parade, while Br Anson served as master of
ceremonies.
The day served as
a reminder of the seminarians’ duty as future ministers to promote peace,
harmony and justice in society while remaining committed citizens of the
country.
