Mangalore,
16.06.2025: A graceful farewell was accorded to Fr Naveen Pinto, Fr Francis
Dsouza and Fr Joswin Praveen Dsouza, who concluded their service at St Joseph
Seminary, Jeppu, with hearts full of gratitude and memories cherished in
fraternity.
The
farewell began with a solemn Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr Naveen Pinto,
joined by all the staff and students of the seminary. The Mass was offered in
thanksgiving for the gift of these three priests, whose lives have been a quiet
yet profound testimony of dedication.
Following
the Eucharistic celebration, a short felicitation programme was held. The
gathering of staff, students and formators resounded with warm applause and
affectionate laughter as memories were shared and words of appreciation spoken.
Very
Rev. Dr Rajesh Rosario, Rector of the Seminary, in his address, eloquently
thanked the priests for their selfless service, fraternal spirit and silent yet
steady presence in the life of the seminary. With deep affection, he recalled
their contributions in various areas, spiritual accompaniment, academic
guidance and pastoral support, and praised their willingness to serve without
counting the cost.
Tokens
of appreciation were presented to the three priests, including bouquets of
flowers and shawls of honour. Fr Francis expressed his gratitude on behalf of
the three. Indeed, while partings are bittersweet, the seeds they have sown
will continue to bear fruit in the hearts of those they leave behind. The event
concluded with a hymn of thanksgiving and a fraternal meal shared in joy.
