Onam Celebration at the Seminary
10-09-2024On September 10th, the seminary joyfully celebrated the festival of Onam, under the leadership of the Marthoma Malayala Samajam (Malayalam Academy). The festivities began on the evening of September 9th at 9:00 pm with a solemn prayer service led by Br Jijo and Br Libin, both in their fourth year of theology.
The following morning, Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Shaju Vadakkumbadan, from the Diocese of Eranakulam Angamaly. Onam, a traditional harvest festival of Kerala, celebrates the legendary King Mahabali and his annual homecoming, embodying values of equality, joy, and unity, which also resonate with Christian teachings of love and community.
The celebration concluded with a traditional Kerala Sadhya, a grand feast prepared by the members of the Marthoma Malayala Samajam and shared in fellowship.
