St. Joseph's Inter-Diocesan Seminary joyfully
reopened its doors on June 1st for the new academic year 2024-25. Following a
day of recollection on June 3rd, the Seminary held the Lectio Brevis, marking
the official commencement of the academic year. The ceremony was graced by the
presence of the Bishop of Mangalore, who presided over the Mass at 9:00 AM.
It was followed by Lectio Brevis lecture CM hall
at 10:15 AM. This year, the Seminary has emphasized spiritual formation as its
central focus. Rev. Dr Ronald Serrao welcomed the gathering and gave a glimpse of
the seminary for the new academic year. In his address, the Bishop shared a
profound message centred on the image of ‘sitting at the feet of the Master’.
He emphasized that the Word of God should shape the seminarians daily, urging
them to allow the Word to transform their lives.
The Lectio Brevis motivated seminarians both
spiritually and intellectually for the forthcoming academic year. This solemn
and inspiring beginning promises a year of growth and deepened commitment to
spiritual and intellectual pursuits at St. Joseph's Seminary.
