St Joseph’s Seminary Celebrates Assumption of Mary and Independence Day with Solemnity and Spirit

St Joseph’s Inter-Diocesan Seminary Jeppu celebrated the solemnity of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary and Independence Day. The program was organised by the brothers of the Hindi academy. The celebration began on 14 evening with the solemn Vespers led by Fr Ivan D’Souza, the Director of the Hindi academy, assisted by Dn. Vipin Tigga and Dn. Norman. During the vespers Dn. Vipin Tigga gave a short reflection. The festive mass was celebrated at 6:15 a.m. Fr Rakesh Bara SJ celebrated the mass and delivered the homily. The celebration was solemnised with the presence of the guest priest Fr Melwin D’ Cunha SJ and other resident fathers. The choir was led by the Hindi academy members. After the mass the ceremony of flag hoisting was organised. Mr Sebastian D’Souza the senior cook of the seminary was the chief guest of the program. Bro Jeevan Lobo III Theology gave Independence Day message. As part of the celebration, a cricket match was held between SJS brothers and Carmelite brothers. The match was won by the SJS brothers.
